Toot-toot! Here comes the calliope. Not only is this a great pull toy, its removable wood whistles can be blown to make 3 distinct sounds. Made in the USA from 100% kiln-dried hardwoods and finished with nontoxic paints, this time-tested old-timer has been selected by Toy Tips and Early Childhood News as a Best Toy.
For ages 2-4.
In 1789, Cornelius Holgate established a woodworking shop outside Philadelphia. His first products were hearth brushes and feather duster handles. In 1929, the Holgate Company became a pioneer in researching and developing educational toys for children. Norman Rockwell's brother, Jarvis, served as chief toy designer through the mid 1960s, and when Mr. (Fred) Rogers was looking for a company to create his Neighborhood Trolley, he turned to Holgate. Holgate uses the finest American hardwoods to make their toys - each is carefully cut, sanded, and finished to exceed all toy safety standards set forth by the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the US.
Comments about Product: 3 whistles in a little pull cart. I somehow thought that they'd make music by pulling the cart, but they don't. You have to blow individually = and they make nice whistles when you do. My grandson mostly uses it to chew on though. He is one, that is what they do!
