King me! Kids can play checkers, chess or backgammon beautifully on this handsome inlaid wooden table. Exquisite wood grain work distinguishes the removable, reversible top and adds to the game enjoyment. Jumbo wooden pieces are fun for kids to pick up and move around the generously sized table, then store conveniently inside (along with the leather cups for playing backgammon).
A great introduction to timeless, traditional pastimes for ages 5 and up.

Comments about Product: We use this table for playing the included games, cards and other board games, and for working on class projects (a poster fits perfectly). It's a classic design and sturdy, and complements our custom office furniture and hardwoods. We use it most in the children's study, but its portability permits moving it to the game room for parties. Having another foot in each direction (or a drop leaf?) would permit tri-fold projects to stay out while in process, saving the kitchen and dining room for the rest of the family.
Comments about Product: The game table is in the playroom away from the box games and building toys so you can play without interferring with another child playing on the rug with building blocks or in the "kitchen" area etc.
Comments about Product: I paid a premium in hopes this would have been a wonderful Christmas gift for my chess-obsessed nephew. I only wish they had conveyed how poorly made (pieced together, different woods and laminate) the table was, as I would have most certainly returned it for them. It arrived broken. The glues holding the laminate pieces did not hold, nor was it joined with screws or joinery of a furniture quality. I truly appeared someone took a stock table and tried to piecemeal ready made pieces to create a chess table. That which wasn't available was cut from cheap, unmatched laminate and poorly glued together. Truly a disappointment for the price.
