we used it in back yard for 2 and 4 yr olds. perect size to play in and safe. fabric is easy tough canvas so holds up. easy to set up and store later.

My kids loved this. I set it up in my son's room. But it smells horrible. At first I thought it was just "new canvas" smell and it would go away. But after a few days, the entire upstairs smelled like it. Left it outside for a week in the fresh air. Sprayed with fabric freshener, water and vinegar. I've tried everything. Says you can't wash it, so I don't know what else to do. It's in the garage right now. Can't use it except outside until this smell goes away.

Thought this would be great for my grandsons. Set it up and they wouldn't go in it because it had a horrible "dead fish" type smell. Called the company that makes it and their representative said that some people try washing them first, that it was a smell from the fire retardant.I spent [$] for this teepee. I really don't want to have to try washing it first (in my washing machine?) to get rid of the smell. (Even keeping it in my front hall to ready it for return, a friend came in and thought my dog had had an accident.) Thankfully, my daughter-in-law called Hearthsong and they were very gracious and told her to send it back and they would reimburse us,Not thrilled with the manufacturer but happy with Hearthsong.

I bought this teepee for 2 boys ages 2 & 4 and they were wild about it. Parents liked it so much they have it in their living room !! I also bought this for a young girl and she erected it over her bed !! somehow and is the fav place for THE GIRLS after school
