I bought this Hexbugs for Christmas.
Comments about Product: I am so excited to see all thirteen of my grandkids open these bugs. The excitement and laughter is going to be great.
Comments about Product: Interesting toy for older children who will think about what the bug is actually doing to move and change direction. However, due to delicate nature of the legs it should come with a permanent case that it can be stored or transported in. Ours broke in one day when one of the legs got bent too much and snapped off.
Comments about Product: My nephews love creepy critters and mechanical toys - especially techy ones. These Hex Bugs were a real hit with them. The only down side was having to wait for them on back-order. Guess lots of other kids had these bugs on their wish lists, too. My nephews say "Aunt Wendy always sends the coolest gifts!"
Comments about Product: Used this as a stocking stuffer for my boys and they seemed to enjoy them but of course had so many other things to check out. After a few days I found them around the house broken. They served their purpose and then they were gone.
Comments about Product: I BOUGHT THE HEX BUG FOR MY GRANDSON AT XMAS. IT WAS THE HIT OF THE MORNING BUT THEY ARE JUST TOO DELICATE FOR A SMALL CHILD. I'M THINKING ABOUT GETTING ONE FOR MYSELF THOUGH, THEY ARE SOOOOO CUTE!
Comments about Product: This was purchased for my six-year old as a stocking stuffer. He played with it for about one minute and hasn't touched it again since. I'd even bring it out and turn it on, but he would just step over it. The bug didn't seem to do much but walk about and then stop. Any noises we made, didn't have much affect on it. Kind of just a more costly tinker toy.
Comments about Product: I got these for my teenage sons for stocking stuffers, & they are great! I like them better than the kids. They move around & redirect just as advertised. They are better than the catalog can describe. Loads of fun! Cutest bugs I ever had in my house!
Comments about Product: My son enjoys his hex bug and still pulls it out 6 months after getting it. I didn't think it worked as well as it said responding to noise and changing directions, but it did seem to have a mind of its own, which added to the fun for my son.
Only downside is its sensitive nature with nowhere to store it but on a shelf. Can't put it with the other toys in the toy bin.
Comments about Product: I bought the Hex Bugs for my 6 & 10 year olds as stocking stuffers and they provided moderate entertainment for the children and the cats and dog. They did not hold up to any dropping or any type of play except observation. The 10 year old's still works as designed, but the 6 year old's sort of limps in a circle now. I would buy them again though because it is a cool toy.
Comments about Product: This toy was cute - crawled around quite slowly and backed up when it hit an object. But it didn't respond well to claps, as advertised. The clap had to be very close and quite loud. Didn't have much play value.
Comments about Product: My mom bought 3 of these HexBugs for my kids (ages 4,7,9) for Christmas. The kids really liked playing with them . . . until they broke. They are quite fragile. One fell off a table while it was "walking," causing a leg to fall off. It didn't move quite right after that, so my kids lost interest rather quickly. These are best for older kids who will play with them very gently.
