My kids love these "bug cages" because they never break when they are dropped. They are so child-friendly that even my four-year-old can catch moths at the front door every morning just by opening the the durable zipper door and getting close enough so that they just fly right in. We only had one cage at first; but after three years, we bought two more so each of our kids could have their own. This has been a wonderful tool for our children to be able to make close observations and gently hold some of the beautiful and delicate creatures that come to visit our yard.

I purchased this for my 5yr old great grandson so he could see how butterflies come to life. We sent for our caterpillars after we received the butterfly garden. They sent 6 tiny caterpillers & it is so much fun watching them grow & they are now starting to hatch into butterflies. We watch them everyday & can't wait to see their beauty.

we just released 5 happy butterflies on the afternoon of my daughter's graduation from high school -- this is the 4th or maybe the 5th "crop" of butterflies we have raised and released in the garden. We were afraid these might not survive because they created so much "web" in the cup it was hard to get the paper disc out, but everything turned out great!

We've had so much fun with this! You get the nursary and then order the caterpillars via mail or Internet. [...] We waited until the weather was consistently above 50 degrees so we could release the butterflies. Fun for the neighbors, too. We all learned a lot.

Really cool gift for any child. Allows child to watch the entire life cycle in 30-45 days. We journaled the changes daily. She was totally engrossed by the matamorphasis. Tiny caterpillars became beautful butterflies.

I bought this after attempting to make my own butterfly nursery & it was the best idea I had! It is just the right size (the smaller one), hangs from the ceiling hook or sits on the table, folds up when done, is easy to clean out and easy to open/close with a zipper on the top edge. The netting is easy to see thru & the top is clear plastic for easy viewing. The other thing is that it is very well made & sturdy, so we will be able to use it year after year! The whole family has enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow, change, and become beautiful butterflies that were sent into the wild. We haven't sent in for the caterpillars because we had our own, so I can't tell you how that turns out yet... That will be the next project! :) We HIGHLY recommend this product!!! ***** 5 stars!!

This product is great! We watched 10 caterpillars turn into butterflies and it was amazing. We cant wait to do it again. Each day the kids were excited to see the changes. It was also a wonderful way to learn about the transformation and the kids didn't think of it as school work. Great product!!!
