This was to be a Christmas gift for my 8 yr. old grandaughter. The kit arrived in a plain, brown, cardboard box, with no directions, and none of the color pictures as shown on the website so a child can see how these little necklaces look, once they are painted. I will have to cut the
color pictures out of the catalog and tape them to the box and try to make it look appealing. I am so disappointed.

Great project for kids. Younger children would need some supervision if they are painting a picture with multiple layers.

Was so excited to have this product arrive in time for the Valentine's Day meeting of a Girls' Friendship class that I offer as an after school activity option. I purchased two kits. The quality of the heart pendants and ribbons was very good. However, in both kits the red paint was completely solid and unable to be used. The white AND yellow pots were solid in one of the kits as well. The color range is fairly limited so this made it hard for the girls to really "get into it" and get creative. Having a room full of excited girls though, there was no turning back so we made the best of it. We were disappointed.

I bought two sets of these so my 4 daughters, ages 13, 10, 9, and 6 could paint them for themselves and as gifts for friends. It was a huge hit! All 4 of them had a great time painting, and the gifts were beautiful,homemade, and in the end, quite cheap when you divide the price by 6 hearts!

I wish I had bought more!

I noticed others saying they needed more colors. It came with a black marker, but I would have liked to see brown too. My one daughter wanted to paint a tree. However, they were challenged to mix colors for more variety.

I purchased for a friend's daughter for her birthday. See is 8. As soon as I give her the presant, she immediately started into the project. So we all made one. We had lots of fun.

I would have liked a larger selection of colors, myself.And more hearts to color. However the 8 year old had a blast.

I have used the Color-My-Heart Pendant Kits for four years as Mother's Day gifts for my third grader students Mothers. I make copies of the heart templates for each student and they design six different possibilities, using colored pencils of the same colors as the paints provided. They choose their favorite design and small groups paint using the brushes and stick provided as well as toothpicks. It takes a few days for the paint to cure, so this project needs to be done a good week in advance of Mother's Day. I will admit that the paint provided with this year's kits were unsatifactory (black and brown included), as well as six colors, instead of the eight colors in the description. I was VERY disappointed in the responses I received from HearthSong when I spoke to Customer Service. The big positive continues to be how very pleased my third graders are with the gifts they have created!
