I bought this for my 3 year old son, along with the parking garage and the harbor set. I'm extremely bummed to report that it broke while I was putting it together. The wood split while I was screwing the base of the crane onto the upright pieces that make up the body. I was willing to use wood glue to fix it because my son was SO excited about the toy. While I continued to put the crane together my son was playing with the trucks that come along with the set. The wheels don't turn, fyi. He dropped the dump truck and the whole thing fell apart. Again, willing to glue it back together, THEN we tried using the crane to lift the pallet. It doesn't work! The knob you turn to raise and lower the hook part of the crane is attached with a tiny screw that unscrews when you twist it. The design of the pallet is poor and it's difficult to get it to stay on the hook. This frustrated my son immensely and I think even if every other part of the crane functioned properly I still would have returned the toy. As far as he's concerned there's no point to a crane that he can't raise and lower stuff with.

Customer service was amazing! She was appropriately dissapointed to hear the reasons I wanted to return the crane and very apologetic. I don't recommend buyig this particular toy, but I do recommend Hearth Song. I will continue to shop for my kids here because I now know if I'm not happy with my purchase their return policy is stellar.
