The on/off light switch seemed to not make the connection after being used several times (couldn't turn it off or switch between different light settings).One of sword "blades" broke off--plastic not sturdy enough for swiping and making contact with anything. Should only be "swiped" through the air gently, in our experience (used by an older boy and 7 year old girl while it worked).

My 7 year old son loves this toy! He has been playing with it for two days straight and does not tire of it. He likes the telescoping ends and that you can have one end extended at a time. His favorite way is with both ends extended and the lights on. He also likes that it changes color. It is fun in the dark or in the daylight. It is bright enough to see in sunlight. It looks fragile, but he has not broken it yet, although he does not hit items with it.

My son got it for his 8th birthday and absolutely loved it. The colors are cool and it is so much fun. Affordable price, great for under $10.
