Our product testers LOVED Sea-Scope - it opened up wonderful new worlds for them to explore. Not only could they solve the big mystery of what lies beneath the surface of the water, they could magnify spiders from a safe distance of 4-5 feet and faraway objects like birds with equal clarity. And that's not all - a temperature strip and ruler helped document discoveries made by scientific observation, and the attachable underwater Aqua Light flashlight improved visibility when the water was murky. Aqua Light takes two AA batteries (not included).Totally engrossing for budding scientists ages 6 and up.

My kids love this toy that really works! We have enjoyed observing the underwater creatures at our favorite lake and cant wait to use it at the tide pools! The only thing I am not wild about is that the flash light is removable--my son keeps taking it apart and losing it! It is a nice feature that is important to get the most out of this product.

I bought this for a 6 yr old birthday gift. The flashlight broke within days and the telescope itself was hard to use. I had trouble adjusting it to see anything, so for a child it was near impossible. For the price, I would expect a more quality product.

Comments about HearthSong Sea-Scope:
My mom bought two of these for my twins. Neither one worked properly. They both got foggy as soon as we looked in the water with them and the kids couldn't see anything. Because of this, they are useless.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this for my nephew who is 9. It's an interesting idea but better suited for a 3-5 year old. I felt the product was cheaply made for the price paid.

Looking Under the Water is a Blast

My kids ages 11, 9, 6, and 3 all like using the Sea Scope when we down to the river. It also has had lots of use in the bubble bath. All around, a neat toy.

We flood our back yard for watering purposes and this is great for the grandchildren to try out looking for bugs and other water "things" that come from the stream.
Grandson loves it

My 5 year old grandson loves it. He spent the day checking out the bottom of the ocean. I can see he will use it for many years.
It was a real hit!

We bought this for our Grandson and he loves it. There is a stream at the edge of their property and he's discovered all kinds of "neat things" to look at and be curious about.

Hard to see anything spectacular
from Washington, NJ
My son has a hard time using it correctly, he is 7, I don't think it magnifies enough and the light batteries have to be taken out after each use or they burn out. Water gets inside it too easy.

kids love it, but we haven't gotten to use it in the water yet. Good to have to see if kids would like a microscope when they are older

My 5 year old daughter really likes this toy. You can see underwater and the flashlight works well. The eye peice extension is a bit wobbly, but we just leave it off most of the time and its fine. It is a great toy that also is educational.
