Comments about Product: The product is sturdy and very well made. There are so many options for the use of this rope ladder. My grandson just loved it.
Comments about Product: This was a great purchase! Made well, quality wood, durable and strong, nice rope and easy to hang. Helps my daughter get up the tree easier and safer as she follows her older sister who is more agile. Thanks for a great product and a good price too I feel. Traci Flanyak
Comments about Product: Rope ladder was very easy to hang. It is a great addition to our mature trees that were otherwise too tall to climb. As a bonus, it's fun to swing on, too. I would definitely recommend this product.
Comments about Product: We set it up in our garage/playroom where my son also has a disc-swing, rope, trapeze and rings over a mat. He is very coordinated and he took to it right away, climbing right up and getting it to swing. He's had it almost a week and he swings and climbs through it from one side to the other while he climbs up. What a blast!
I would advise against tethering the bottom as some other reviews mentioned. If you want a stable ladder, get a wood or metal one. If you want to build core strength, balance and coordination while having fun, let the bottom go and let the kids figure it out!
Comments about Product: As a grandmommy with a 5yr. old grandson who needs lots of ways to use up his energy, I made one of my bedrooms into a playroom complete with zip-line, trapyze, round swing, and regular swing. We have soooooo much fun in there. In Texas, I can rarely be in my back yard because of mosquitoes and/or heat. This playroom lets us play during any weather and stay comfortable. I have a chair to sit and push him in the swing. He climbs this ladder and touches the ceiling and then I pull it out of the way and he then drops down onto the cushioned floor. This is a great product at an excellent price. Nothing to put together either.
Comments about Product: I was surprised at how well made this rope ladder was. We are not talking chinsy rope and dowels, it is sturdy and durable. I got this for my three year old to have something to monkey around on inside (he is a MONKEY!) and I expect that he and his brothers will have this product to use for years to come. I am very happy with this product, especially for the price paid for it. Thank you!
Comments about Product: My 7 year son ordered this with his own money ,and he and his siblings have played with it every day. It is in the tree in our front yard. A new tree sitting record was set today in our house. We also purchased one several years back that the boys use on their bunk beds. It still looks great. A basic product done right.
Comments about Product: We have the rope ladder and the Twizzler hung up in our balcony/porch, and it has made the transition from house-with-yard to overseas in a high-rise apartment living so much easier. Along with some mats and a hopscotch rug, we have created a little gym right in our apartment, and our kids (3.5 and 6.5) are loving it and constantly out there. Other people have commented that they needed to tack down the bottom, but our 6-year-old climbed right up on her first try, and our 3-year-old son learned to climb the wobbly ladder within 2 months -- the challenge is part of the fun!
Comments about Product: My 4 kids love using this to climb into our tree. It really needs some anchors into the ground to keep it steady though because it twists and turns and swings as they climb it. I definitely recommend this product.
Comments about Product: I am delighted with this purchase from HearthSong and we use it daily during rainy and cold weather. While it is marketed for outdoor summer use, we purchased it primarily indoor usage during inclement weather at our home in Chicago. Our 4 year-old daughter has a Sensory Processing Disorder and this rope ladder is tons of fun while providing excellent exercise and "sensory input." My 7 year-old daughter (without the disorder) loves it even more than the 4 year-old, showing us her new tricks every week.
You will not regret this purchase, the rope and dowels are very sturdy and high-quality material! I do not worry about the ladder itself being compromised, at least not until it's had a few years of use. The rope does show a little fraying after 3 months of daily abuse, but nothing significant.
I do advise that the rope ladder be used only with supervision at younger ages as the dowels can slide around while the child is climbing. We loop it over a support bar in a doorway which holds 175 pounds, and they are unable to hang it up without a supervising adult in the room.
Comments about Product: We slung this over a lower branch on the crabapple tree in our yard, then staked the bottoms to the ground to keep the ladder from swinging when the kids climb. They just love climbing up into the tree on their own. Very well made product, and it looks great hanging from the tree. Thanks for a fun product!
Comments about Product: Used the rope ladder for my kids to climb a medium sized tree. Installation was a breeze and the ladder worked fine when I positioned it so it would not swing. It would be good to have a kit to anchor the two end ropes to the ground to stabilize the ladder when kids climb it. Excellent rope ladder for use outdoors on trees or decks.
Comments about Product: Can be used as a rope ladder to climb into a tree house, or attached to a swing set in place of a swing. Purchased for my 6 year old nephew as a gift and he loves it. His 8 year old older sister likes climbing it too, and trying her gymnastic skills on it.
I would purchase it again.
