I had Czech hand puppets as a child and they are still alive! These are beautifully made, imagination provoking dolls and our 3 year old absolutely loves playing with them. Small enough for little hands and just big enough for adults with smaller hands. Captain Hook's body has more stretch, so it's easier for adults, other dolls will squish your hand a bit if you play for long.
The detail is much more amazing than pictures show. Feel and look of a handcrafted quality, love it!
Wendy seems a bit too simple on the screen, but is in fact perfect.
The only improvement I see the company could make is hair. Since it's made of wool, it will withstand time, but the way Captain Hook's locks are sawn maybe a bit fragile for little hands younger than 3. Hook is amazing, by the way, and after almost a year of every day play, hardly any signs of use :O)
I am extremely happy with the purchase, other hand puppets just don't compare!

The pirate's beard is a long, floppy loop--not very realistic.

The parrot is flimsey and floppy. Looked better in the catalog.

But then, it was intended for children, not picky adults.

My 3 year old granddaughter has a very vivid imagination. She loves to re-enact stories she's read or plays that she's seen. One of her recent favorites has been The Wizard of Oz. When I saw the Oz puppets in your catalog, I couldn't resist! She already had a puppet stage given to her as a Christmas gift, but she mostly used generic stuffed animals or dolls she already owned for her "characters". Now she has so much more fun with these beautiful puppets. They are so well made and very attractively detailed. Instead of a half puppet on a child's wrist, these are made with legs for much more realistic play. They may be a bit pricey, but if you get these in your home, I'm confident that you'll agree they're worth every penny! These puppets will be among those special toys that will get passed down for sure.

Each year I try my best to come up with a gift for my grandchildren who seem to "have everything" while also encouraging the kids to use their imagination... something I see lacking in many toys these days. These puppets helped me to create a gift that has the potential to be my best gift yet! Also something that, with care, they'll be able to hand down to their own children some day. I was so worried that they would not measure up... was I every wrong! They are over-the-top of my expectations!

These puppets have really kept my kids busy. They got these from Santa and they still enjoy them. The details are amazing. They are easy for my kids little hands to manipulate. We have had some amazing puppet shows!

My one and only complaint is how come the Wicked Witch isn't green? My kids noticed that right away and I did too when ordering, but I'm glad I didn't let me keep it from buying them for my kids. They love it!
