Season after season, our customers have loved this Classic Wooden Domino Race Set. We made it even better by updating colors, adding patterns, increasing the number of pieces, and adding a few new cool challenges. Use the start and finish wood pieces to designate your course, arrange the dominoes in a serpentine pattern, then tip the first domino (or run the included wooden ball down the ramp) to start a chain reaction!
Original set contains 255 wooden pieces (including pyramid step set and stairs/bridge set). The special includes the Add-On Set (24 pieces including a tunnel set, ramp, and ball) to bring even more action to the race! Great for creative, indoor play.

My kids love this set, and with a few small changes it could be perfect. The biggest issue that we had is that the staircase/ramp is poorly designed. The landing at the top on our staircase is smaller than what is pictured, and we are not able to balance the ball on the top. We are only able to use the ball as the very start of the course, and roll it down the ramp ourselves, rather than use it as something the dominos can knock down. Also, one of our boards that rests on the pillars is warped, making that piece unusable as well. While I appreciate that this set allows kids to use their own ideas/imaginations, a very basic instruction sheet with color photos would provide a good starting point. (The current sheet is black and white, and the majority is written instructions rather than photos.) Overall it's a high quality set, and we are happy with it, but for the price paid, I would like to see something that was better tested and designed.

Purchase this for a family with a 2.5 year old, 8 year old and a 10 year old. The 8 year old (girl) played with this all weekend. She enjoyed other family members working with her to build the creation. The 2.5 year old (girl) and 10 year old (boy) enjoyed watching the dominoes fall. The extra parts - ramps & rollers -make it possible to create a different maze each time.
