I had high hopes for this instrument - I purchased it for our 11 year old granddaughter as a Christmas present. When the package arrived, I eagerly opened it to inspect it, and quickly saw the lap harp was out of tune, so I decided to tune it. The tuning instructions that came with the product were vague and not at all helpful, so I found a YouTube video to use. However, I quickly discovered this task to be difficult and frustrating. Even after carefully turning the pins to adjust the pitch, three of the wires on the lap harp became disengaged from the pins, and were very difficult to re-attach. Then, after all my efforts, the lyre did not stay in tune. If it was hard for ME, as an adult, to use this, imagine my granddaughter trying to do the same! I returned the lap harp the next day.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old. I took it out of the box to see about getting it tuned before I wrapped it. I couldn't get more than 4 strings tuned before the previous ones would already be out of tune. I read the directions and knew to be very careful about turning the pegs - But the strings aren't able to stay securely attached to the peg - 2 came out while I *very slowly and carefully* turned the provided key. There's no way a kid could ever learn to tune it themselves.

I'm really disappointed.
